Fwd: How to Manipulate a Gamer

I did an idle search for the phrase "gamer's wife" to see if my site has reached any sort of notoriety, but alas, a mere 16 posts is a piddly drop in the bucket. So how many entries does it take to make it to the top? Well, one woman at thegamerswifey.blogspot.com has posted about 90 times at a current rate of 12.8 posts per month. I, on the other hand, have an humble 1.2 posts per month. I guess the main reasons are because a) I already write a lot at work, b) I also post on a separate personal blog, and c) I'm involved in too many hobbies! ^_^;;

Anyway, the purpose wasn't to expose my lack of consistency. In the aforementioned wife's blog, she has an astoundingly hilarious article titled How to Manipulate a Gamer, specifically regarding the financial battle that occurs everytime he wants to buy a new game. I'm not going to spoil the whole thing, but here are her suggestions:
  1. Express your displeasure.
  2. Guilt trip him.
  3. Decide what you want in return.
  4. Negotiate the deal.
  5. Both parties make their purchases.
While the tactics are very cute/clever, I personally wouldn't adhere to them because, well, buying two items uses up even more money than one. Haha, I'm just one of those odd girls who gains more pleasure from saving money rather than spending. And besides, no need for manipulation because K always says, "Whatever A* wants, A gets." #^_^#

*Oops, I haven't really said my name before! Just call me "A."

A shovel also helps when negotiating with your mate.
